Logitech M185: Check your laptop ports before buying

A separate mouse can be worth considering if you prefer one for navigating lessons, editing documents or working at a desk. Before choosing the Logitech M185, check how it connects and whether its compact shape suits you. This guide is based on published product information; we have not tested the mouse.

Check the connection first

The Amazon listing for the Swift Grey M185 identifies a 2.4 GHz wireless connection using a USB-A nano receiver. Logitech also describes setup through a USB receiver. You need a suitable port for that receiver; do not assume “wireless” means it pairs directly over Bluetooth.

If your laptop has only USB-C ports, check whether you already have a compatible adapter or hub. Include any extra accessory in your budget. For a travel setup, consider whether you want to carry and keep track of a separate receiver.

Consider fit and everyday use

Logitech describes the M185 as compact and designed for left- or right-handed use. That does not establish how it will feel in your hand. Compare its shape with a mouse you already find comfortable, especially if you spend long periods at a desk.

Logitech lists compatibility with Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux. Confirm the requirements for your particular device and the exact model being sold.

Before ordering

Check the selected model, included receiver, seller, item condition, current price and return terms on Amazon. A low purchase price is less useful if the connection or fit does not suit your setup.
